Edinburgh's housing stock is some of the most distinctive in the UK and some of the most technically demanding. Georgian townhouses in the New Town, Victorian villas in Morningside, tenement flats on every side of the city centre, modern apartments at Quartermile and Fountainbridge, and country homes in the surrounding villages. We design and install smart home, audio, lighting, security and Wi-Fi systems across all of them.
What Edinburgh homes are really like to wire
The cliché about old buildings is that they fight the technology. The reality is more nuanced. Tenement floors and stone party walls limit signal but make discreet cable routes easier. Georgian terraces have generous service voids if you know where to look. New Town flats reward careful planning and punish anyone who tries to retrofit a generic mesh kit.
We have worked across most of the city's housing stock. Each property gets the brief that suits it, not the brief that suits us.
The nine systems we install
We design and install whole-home and commercial Wi-Fi, home cinema and media rooms, multi-room audio, lighting and motorised blinds, CCTV and security, access control, networking and smart control, and structured cabling. Each one has its own page with detail on how we approach it. Most projects use three or four of these together; the largest use all eight.
Recent Edinburgh projects
Featured on our homepage is Papple Steading, a category-A listed restoration in East Lothian where we fitted whole-home Wi-Fi, CCTV, multi-room audio and Elan control with no visible cabling anywhere. We are happy to talk about other recent Edinburgh projects on a call.
